The feel of its construction is more substantial and it oozes a little higher quality than the Yamaha (purely subjective). They're both around the same price. The QSC CP12 has an excellent bass extension for a 12-inch speaker. The preset feature makes it easy to change settings for specific items. As you add more bass heavy instruments into the signal chain, like keyboards, bass guitars and drums, you'll need bigger speaker sizes. It is smaller, lighter, slightly more powerful, and claims quite a bit stronger bass response than the DBR10 (we put an electric bass through our system for about 1/3 of our repertoire). You can find slightly lighter speakers on the market, but these CP models have asubstantial feel about them and are very stable when used as floor monitors due to good weight distribution, good cab angles and excellent rubber feet that give agood grip on shiny floors.
